Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend is always a welcome reward after surviving the first few days back at school. To start the weekend, Boomer went to the Friday night football game at Forbush. It was the big rivalry game against Starmount, and while I gave some thought to taking the kids too, it was the right call that the three of us stayed home. I'm not sure Emmy and Eli would have made it through the late game; they were much happier having movie night in their pjs. On Saturday, we took the kids to the park at the YMCA, and then that evening, we went to the Dash game with the Keys. The kids loved the unlimited snacks in the Flow Club. We stayed until the very end, including the fireworks. Eli liked the fireworks at first, but then he was over it! He finished out the rest of the show on Daddy's lap. On Sunday, we had brunch at the Golden Waffle in Asheboro on our way to Star. It was a perfect pool day, and we stayed there through suppertime. For the Labor Day Monday, we spent our morning at the Science Center, which is always a fun outing with our crew. As I'm recapping our weekend, it seems like we actually did quite a lot! Even so, the pace was pretty laid back, and we didn't set our alarm clocks for any of the three days. The fall has a lot of things planned, so it was just the kind of weekend we needed.
