Big Girl Bed

Emmy finally upgraded from a toddler bed to a full sized bed! It was long overdue, and she is so excited about the new look of her big girl room! Grammy found a perfect butterfly bedding set that matched with the curtains and chair that were already in there, and both Grammy and Grandpa helped Boomer make the swap while we were at gymnastics on Wednesday evening. Emmy was sure surprised! Eli was a little sad that his bed did not change. For now he is still in his crib. I anticipate that we will move him to the toddler bed sometime this fall after we get into the rhythm of the school year. On Thursday night, I spent the night with Emmy in her new bed. She had been asking for a sleepover with Mommy, and it seemed like an easy request to fulfill. Luckily we both slept pretty well.

Today was our last fun Friday with Daddy. With August just around the corner, Boomer will go back to 5-day work weeks, and I too will be starting school again. This morning, we knocked out a to-do list item: passports for Emmy and Eli. Then we spent about an hour at the driving range, followed by lunch at Bill & Leah's. It's been a very hot week, so by the afternoon, we are usually back home for naps and rest time (and air conditioning!)

Earlier in the week, we filled our days with some fun adventures. We met up with Stephanie and Lyla at the new playground at Quarry Park. The kids enjoyed jumping on the in-ground trampolines and climbing the observation tower. We also had two pool days and a play date with the Moores and Alfaros. The kids and I have one more week remaining of summer together, since Eli starts back on August 7th and I start back the next day. We plan to soak up every last minute of these final days!
