Sweaty Summer Days

This past week had some of the highest temperatures of the year. Despite the heat, we still managed to make some sweaty memories as the summer days are winding down.

On Thursday, my mom watched all four grandchildren while Megan and I both had meetings for work. I know the energy it takes to keep up with my two, so Grammy is truly a rockstar! The four cousins spent the day at the Houston house. They took a trip up to the neighborhood park and then cooled off in the sprinklers in the backyard. I love these pictures of the four of them.
Today was a full day. Since it was Boomer's final Friday off, we had our last summer adventure. We opted for air conditioning over sunshine and went to the Kaleideum Children's Museum in downtown Winston-Salem. It had been over a year since we had last been there, so Emmy was excited to rediscover the grocery store, donut shop, and other make-believe stations. Afterwards, we went to Burke Street Pizza and home for rest time. In the evening, Emmy and I went to a birthday party for one of her classmates, Ellie Sue. The theme was superheroes and princesses, and Emmy loved wearing her Elsa dress. She was a little shy to meet Aurora and Wonder Woman, but by the end of the party, she warmed up to having her picture taken with them.

There's nothing like a clean baby after a sweaty summer day!
There are usually no complaints when it is time for bed. We recently transitioned to Eli using a blanket. He was still previously wearing a sleep sack, and his legs had just enough room to stretch out. He seems to like the blanket and will say "sleep" while motioning to his crib. Good night, sweet babies!
