Happy Easter

After returning from Tennessee, we celebrated two special holidays: Easter and Grammy's birthday. On Friday, we dyed Easter eggs with the cousins. The moms declared it the most successful egg-dying yet; the only mishaps were a few dyed fingertips and a couple of cracked eggs. Otherwise, the kids did great taking turns and sharing the colors. Grandpa was out running errands during the egg-dying, and when he returned, he brought a special treat of donuts. Everyone posed for a photo to show off their eggs and donuts. We gathered back together later that evening for dinner at Giada's to celebrate Grammy's birthday. Even though her actual birthday is not until tomorrow, we celebrated early because of various sports conflicts on a Monday evening. It was a wonderful dinner, and Grammy had a full lap when it came time to blow out her candles. We sure are thankful for Grammy and for all she does for our family.

Today was Easter, and before church this morning, the kiddos had some special treats in their Easter baskets. Emmy was most excited about her new pair of shoes. She has been asking for shoes with laces ever since she learned to tie her shoes a few weeks ago. She said that she wanted to ask Santa for a pair for Christmas, but luckily the Easter Bunny didn't make her wait that long. After a quick indoor Easter egg hunt around the downstairs, we headed off to church. Boomer and I were in the nursery so we were not in the main service, but it was still special to be at church to celebrate Jesus' resurrection. He is risen!
On Saturday, we met the Joneses for a play date at Rockin' Jump. The kids, big and little, enjoyed jumping around on all the trampolines. The basketball court was especially a hit with the boys! After jumping for almost two hours, we had lunch at Camel City BBQ. It was a perfect last outing for Spring Break. Now it's back to school for the final quarter of the school year. There is a lot to fit into these final nine weeks, and I know it will go by fast. Summer will be here before we know it!
