Happy Birthday to Daddy!

On Tuesday, Boomer turned another year older! We celebrated last Sunday after church with lunch at my parents' house. The meal was Boomer's favorite shrimp and grits, and then we had brownies and ice cream for dessert. I'm glad that we celebrated early because the rest of the week was a bit of a blur. On the day of his birthday, he had his UNCG class, so after working a full day, he taught from 5PM - 7PM and got home after the kids were in bed. Other nights this week had similar obligations: I had our FHS Senior Info Night on Wednesday, and then the other usual commitments of a school board meeting on Monday, dance on Tuesday, and Christmas practice on Wednesday. I am hoping that we can celebrate some more over the month of October - he is very deserving of all the celebration! Happy birthday to Daddy!

Last weekend, after Hurricane Ian passed through, we spent Saturday morning at the Science Center. It was still a little rainy and drizzling, so we stayed indoors and did not do any of the outdoor exhibits. They had a temporary Lego exhibit, and the kids enjoyed building things together. We always have a fun time at the Science Center.

On Thursday evening, with an evening free of events, we took the kids to the pumpkin patch to pick out a few pumpkins. Emmy and Eli quickly picked out their own small pumpkins - an orange one for Emmy and a white one for Eli. We have a few more fun fall activities planned for the weekend ahead: a football game this evening and then a carnival on Saturday. Also, fun fact, Boomer's and my meet-a-versary is Sunday. We met 14 years ago on October 9th! :)
