Eli's 1st Wake Game

We have been enjoying the beautiful fall weather lately. Last Saturday, we went to the Wake Forest football game. Kickoff was at 5PM, and the temperatures were perfect for being outside. We met the Houstons and Grammy there. (We missed Grandpa while he was away on a golfing trip.) Wake played Liberty, funny enough, my two grad schools! And it was quite a game. Wake had the lead at halftime, but Liberty scored 15 points during the 3rd Quarter to go up by 3. Then the score was back-and-forth in the last quarter. Even though it was after bedtime, we stayed until the very end, and Wake won 37-36 after a failed 2-point conversion by Liberty. Despite the stress of a close score, Eli's first game was a fun one! He quickly learned the Wake fight song, and he loves cheering "Go Deacs!"

We celebrated my dad's birthday on Monday with Kimono's for dinner and cheesecake and mini cupcakes for dessert. The kids are always a bit of a handful when we go out to a restaurant, but we continue trying anyways! Happy birthday, Grandpa!
Emmy continues to do big girl things. She is loving kindergarten, and we've gotten several good reports from her teacher. She is very excited about the upcoming field trip to see Pete the Cat at the Carolina Theater. In the evenings, we are trying to get outside some before the darker days and colder temperatures of winter arrive. I am already looking forward to May when summer will return!
