Princess & the Frog

We've had a fun week filled with fall activities. After work and school on Monday, we made a visit to the local pumpkin patch. Everyone cooperated (even Linda!) and we managed to only buy one large pumpkin and two small white pumpkins.

Emmy wanted to carve the pumpkin that evening, but there's only so much time before bedtime on a school night. We carved it this weekend, and Emmy and Eli loved seeing it lit up with a candle.
This weekend, we helped paint the dinosaur for Maddox's birthday. He will be turning 6 on Tuesday. The dinosaur sits outside of the elementary school, and Emmy always loves seeing what color it is as we drive by. It was our first time painting it, and *most* of the paint ended up on the dinosaur. I was somehow nominated to do the letters, which was no easy task. We opted for a simple design of solid blue with red lettering. Our artistic talents were somewhat limited by age, focus, and a soccer game later that afternoon!

This evening, we went to the Fall Festival at our church. The Princess and the frog (and their four handlers) enjoyed going from trunk to trunk for candy. Eli picked up on things quickly, and both kids had full baskets to take home. Emmy got a special treat from the Kona Ice truck, and after all the sweets, it's no wonder they both had trouble sitting still during the balloon show in the gym. Emmy wanted to twirl in her princess dress, while Eli wanted to sprint laps down the floor. Despite the sugar rush, both kids put up little fight at bedtime. I am not sure if Eli will always agree to being big sister's sidekick, but they sure made a cute pair. Hopefully they both will cooperate for another year or two.
In other news, the Braves are going to the World Series, and Wake improved to 7-0! If only the Panthers had won today...  It has otherwise been a great weekend in sports. Here are a few more photos from the week. Eli had make-up pictures at school, and the second time around turned out much better!
