The weeks have continued with their usual fast pace. We've had two additional weeks of dance for Emmy. Eli continues to be a cooperative tag-a-long to the practices. Afterwards, we will grab dinner, and that's usually when I have my hands full, as you can see from the photos. There is one final week of dance which will include a short showcase for families to see the dancers' new skills. I think Emmy will be sad for it to end. We are still undecided as to what activity she would like to do in the fall. Dance is definitely a top contender.
Last Friday, Emmy and Eli's school had a trike-a-thon fundraiser for St. Jude's. Grammy was able to go to watch and to help. Eli is still an inch or two too short to reach the pedals on his tricycle, so he mostly used his feet to move around. Emmy is getting better at her balance bike. Hopefully throughout the summer, both kiddos will become more comfortable on wheels. (Thank you to Grammy for snapping these photos!)
Zander turned 9 this past Thursday. We celebrated with dinner at Frida's Mexican Restaurant. Emmy loved wearing the flower from Uncle Zack's margarita behind her ear, and Eli loved the cupcakes. On Saturday, we went to Zander's baseball game. He did a great job playing 2nd base, short stop, and he even made his game-debut as a pitcher. He ended the game with a double play, and his team won by a handful of runs. While the game was entertainment for the adults, Emmy and Maddox found entertainment in climbing a nearby tree. Later in the afternoon, Megan and Zack threw a party for the birthday boy at Spare Time in Greensboro. There was bowling, arcade games, and laser tag, and of course pizza and birthday cake, too. Emmy and Boomer headed straight to the arcade games, where they played air hockey and skee ball. Eli tried out bowling and was so excited to see the pins fall down.
After Zander's birthday party, Boomer and I passed the kiddos off to Grammy and Grandpa, while we made a quick wardrobe change. We then headed to the Forbush Prom. We last attended Prom in 2019, when Boomer was the principal. Now that I'm the staff member, it was his turn to come along as my date. We've gone to so many proms now that we've practically lost count. We think Saturday marked prom #16. Even after all these years, we still have lots of fun together :)
