Emmy & Eli's First Day of School

The first day of the 2025-2026 school year is in the books! I am happy to report that there were smiles in the morning and smiles in the afternoon. I promised Boomer that next year I would scale back on the number of first-day pictures. Even I will admit that we had quite the photo shoot before school, with the signs, the t-shirts, and bookbags. One of my favorite pictures is of Emmy and Eli back-to-back on the front porch, with Emmy's arms crossed and Eli holding the straps of his bookbag. I also love the picture of them holding hands on the sidewalk. Boomer and I were both able to take the kids to school this morning. Outside of the breezeway, we passed them off to Aunt Megan, where they joined Maddox to walk inside. I teared up as we said our goodbyes, but Boomer was quick to distract me with his well-timed humor. I loved getting photos from Megan throughout the day. Despite her busy schedule, she still managed to check in on them in their classrooms and in the cafeteria. She keeps a watchful eye over her niece and nephew. Our pray for both kids is that the year ahead will be one of learning, growth, friendships, confidence, and kindness. We're ready for Day 2!
