- cleaned the inside of the house top-to-bottom,
- mowed one last time for the winter,
- cut Boomer's hair,
- changed the sheets,
- did a couple loads of laundry, and
- filled the car with things for Goodwill.
There were a few other things, too, like re-enrolling for our insurance benefits, writing the monthly daycare check, oh and all while taking care of a busy toddler! A lot of these chores had to be done strategically during Emmy's nap and while we traded off who was watching her. The last two items on my to-do list are to install the car seat bases and to pack our hospital bag. Both of these things shouldn't take too long, but they are certainly essential! Hopefully we can do them this week, so that next weekend (if baby is still not here) we can enjoy perhaps our last weekend as a family of 3 without the worry of things to be done.
We did most of our chores on Sunday, because on Saturday, we spent a relaxing day in Star watching football and playing outside in the sunshine. Unbeknownst to me, Cathy had planned a small 'sprinkle' for Baby Kennedy, so there were also gifts and cake! It was such a nice day! All the cousins had so much fun playing together. Lots of blonde-haired, blue-eyed Kennedys running around!
On Friday night, Emmy and I made a spontaneous trip to Forbush when our original plans of a Staff Tailgate at East Surry were cancelled. After two warmer Forbush games earlier in the season, Friday's temperatures were much colder, barely reaching 50 degrees. Emmy and I tailgated beforehand, but then we hit the road shortly after 7PM. With the excitement of Halloween and five full days of daycare, we didn't attempt to watch any football. Even though we didn't make it to kick-off, it was a nice surprise to visit Daddy's school one more time since it may be a while before I feel brave enough to bring both kids by myself. While we were at Forbush, Boomer showed me a calendar that had just been posted with predictions of when Baby Kennedy would be born. A few are predicting a due-date baby - we'll see!
